The maintenance and upkeep of small-scale organic fertilizer production lines often lay the groundwork in the procurement stage. Many farms and cooperatives only focus on production capacity and price when selecting equipment, only realizing that lubrication points cannot be reached, vulnerable parts need to be replaced once and the production line needs to be stopped for two days, and fermentation turntables frequently collapse during the rainy season. The difficulty level of maintenance is essentially determined by equipment configuration and process design. Checking this matter thoroughly before procurement is much more cost-effective than remedying it afterwards.
The maintenance pressure of small wires is concentrated in three aspects. Fermentation turning is an outdoor or semi outdoor operation, where the walking wheels, hydraulic system, and chain of the turning machine come into long-term contact with high humidity materials. If the composting cycle is designed to be 7 to 10 days, the equipment will operate under heavy load almost every day. The molds, pressure rollers, and stirring teeth in the granulation process are wear parts, and the frequency of replacement is directly determined by the moisture content and impurity content of the raw materials. The drying and screening process is affected by dust and temperature, and the protection level of bearings, sensors, and PLC control cabinets is insufficient, resulting in a significant increase in failure rate.
The key to pre procurement maintenance is to check the accessibility of core components. Whether there is maintenance space for the gearbox, bearings, and sensors, and whether lubrication points are centrally arranged, determine whether daily maintenance can be completed in ten minutes or requires dismantling half a line.
The second key point is the replacement cycle and supply of vulnerable parts. The roller skin of the roller extrusion granulator, the scraper of the disc granulator, and the hammer head of the crusher are all consumables. What is easily overlooked in procurement references is the supply cycle of accessories. If the manufacturer promises that the accessories can be delivered within 72 hours, the guarantee of production continuity is completely different.
The third key point is the protection of electrical and automatic control systems. Small wires are often equipped with PLC automation control, but the workshop has high dust and humidity, and the sealing and heat dissipation design of the control cabinet is not in place, which makes it easy to malfunction in summer. When purchasing, it is necessary to confirm the protection level of sensors, whether the control cabinet is independently sealed, and whether the wiring is routed through cable trays instead of open laying. These details are often not visible on the equipment quotation, but directly determine the labor investment for later maintenance.
The fourth key point is the correlation between energy consumption and operating costs. The thermal energy utilization rate of the dryer is not less than 85%, and the energy consumption is 15% lower than the industry standard. These indicators not only save money, but also mean that the load of the combustion system, fan, and temperature control valve is smoother and there are fewer fault points. When purchasing, the annual operating cost can be used as a reference. A production line with an annual output of 100000 tons can save 120000 to 180000 yuan in annual operating costs, and this space often comes from equipment matching rather than individual components.
The fifth key point is whether the manufacturer can provide maintenance training and technical support. The entry of equipment is just the beginning, and whether the operators understand the flipping cycle, granulation moisture content window, and upper limit of drying temperature determines whether the equipment operates stably or undergoes repeated maintenance.
Daily maintenance can be carried out along three lines. Check the lubrication and fastening of the mechanical line, and inspect the traveling wheels of the turning machine, the main shaft of the granulator, and the eccentric block of the screening machine once a week. The process line considers the materials and temperature, controls the fermentation moisture within an appropriate range, and ensures that the drying outlet temperature does not exceed the set upper limit. Check the cleanliness and heat dissipation of electrical wiring, remove dust from the control cabinet every month, and calibrate sensors regularly. Each of the three lines is responsible for maintaining a clear record of replacement time and fault symptoms in the ledger, which will serve as a practical reference for the next procurement or expansion.
The maintenance of small-scale organic fertilizer production lines ultimately involves assessing maintainability as an indicator during the procurement phase. With the answers to the four questions of whether the components are sufficient, whether the accessories will arrive in time, whether the control cabinet can withstand dust, and whether the factory teacher can operate them properly, the maintenance pressure of the equipment after entering the site can be resolved in advance. Only by including maintenance accounts in the selection account can the investment return of small-scale lines stand firm.
